Corporate Director of Sales & Marketing

The Corporate Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for oversight of the Sales and Marketing Operating Standards for the Tavistock Hotel Collection and collaborating with the Director of Sales and Marketing, at each property, on their overall Sales and Marketing platform and strategy. The ideal candidate for this role is a Sales and Marketing leader in the hospitality sector with group and transient sales experience, revenue management, digital, social, and traditional marketing, opening experience, and a background within both branded and independent hotels. 


Essential Job Functions:

Implement and monitor the Operating Standards for Property Level Sales and Marketing to include:

  • Annual Budgeting for Revenue plus Sales and Marketing Expenses

  • Annual Sales and Marketing Plan

  • Group Sales

  • Transient Sales

  • Catering/Banquet Sales

  • Revenue Management

  • Digital Marketing standards

  • Social Media standards 

  • Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Reporting Standards 

  • Training Plans

  • Provide oversight to positively influence Sales and Marketing initiatives at each property to drive revenue

  • Co-champion the sales process, including active support to identify, negotiate and close deals with key accounts.  Balance strategic leadership with hands-on involvement

  • Plan and execute appropriate revenue management strategies. Take an active involvement in pricing and yield management, aligning marketing messages and sales activities to deliver on these objectives

  • Act as a resource to Sales & Marketing Directors, General Managers and other property personnel

  • Represent the Tavistock Hotel Collection brand by taking an active and visible role at relevant industry trade shows and events

  • Some travel may be required

  • Other responsibilities as assigned

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of eight years of progressive sales and marketing roles within both branded and independent hospitality organizations serving both group and transient  

  • Hotel sales and marketing experience, especially for an organization that has owned and/or managed luxury properties

  • An undergraduate degree is required.  An MBA, or equivalent work experience, is a plus

  • Exceptional leadership qualities and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with conflicting deadlines

  • Results-oriented team player with a high level of integrity

  • Demonstrate ability to foster collaboration and build relationships

  • Strong ability to problem solve while not sacrificing project goals

  • Ability to proactively identify critical path tasks and, without exception, execute on those tasks

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically able to do assigned work as outlined above

  • Must be physically able to sit or stand and use the computer for hours at a time

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
